The River and Africam

In Winnipeg, it was -2C as the dogs and I went on our walk this morning.  I think Mother Nature has forgotten about us here – there should be a + in front of the number in the temperature now.  We need to see some grass very soon.

Here are this mornings pictures:

As you can probably see, we still have more than enough snow here.

Last night (which was this morning in Africa) there was actually the start of the morning parade at Africam before I had to head for bed. Since our time change, I haven’t seen much in the early morning. It was a family of side striped jackals.  We normally see the black backed jackals there and it was fun watching this family play.  Here are a few pictures that I took.

The three major differences between this jackal and the black backed ones are that these ones do not have a black black, they have a stripe along their sides and they have a white tip on their tails.

This one had a snack of some kind, but we couldn’t tell what it was.

This morning, before the walk, I was watching Impala, Hadeda Ibis, Egyptian Geese and a resting Wildebeest at Nkorho.

I am sure this will be another busy day at the Y, so now I am going to relax and watch more from Nkorho waterhole.
