May 1st

It didn’t rain today, but it didn’t really warm up much.  We got a bit of sun this afternoon though.  We are actually at our normal temperatures for this time of year – its just that we got a bit spoiled with the early warm weather.

Of course the rains have got my back yard all muddy and my boy Chester really loves playing in the mud.  He adapted quite well to having his feet cleaned at the back door before coming into the house – but the problem is that he wants back outside a few minutes later.  I make him wait, but he doesn’t like it much.

Dakota’s short walk around the block and Chester’s longer walk along the Red River did not give us anything to take pictures of today.  I did snap one picture of 2 male Wood Ducks, but it didn’t turn out well, so there isn’t much use posting it.

So, my pictures are flowers from yesterday.  My tulips are almost in full bloom and my plum tree is in full bloom!  🙂

This morning some Zebras came to visit us on Africam. We don’t see much of them during the rainy season, so they should start coming more regularly soon as the dry season begins.

There were also Impalas and Wildebeests around while these Zebras were there.

Tonight, we had two separate visits by elephants.  The first one was an upset bull elephant.  Luckily he left without causing any damage.  This was followed by a mother and her baby some time later.

You can see the video that Morris made of these two visits here.

By the way, you can always find the most recent videos at Africam’s Home page.
