It is March now and my marathon of Friday appointments continues. Today it was the dentist where I underwent a thorough cleaning, x-rays (I hate x-rays) and a check up. I survived to see another day (well – for sure the rest of the day) and have a whole 6 months before I have to go back again.
After the dentist, I picked up my mom and we went out for some shopping and lunch at Boston Pizza. By the time I got home the temperature was a pleasant -12C with a wind chill of -20C under sunny skies and the streets were getting wet from melting snow. Those were the conditions when Chester and I had our walk along the Red River. I am still wearing the spikes on my shoes as the hard packed snow is very slippery, especially when the little bit on top starts to melt and then freezes again.
Since I haven’t taken pictures of the Red River in awhile I decided to take a few today, including the skating rink that comes from the Forks (Red & Assiniboine Rivers).
Someone must be crossing the river here frequently throughout the winter.
