Magic Tree

This was today’s topic suggestion from Word Press “You’ve got a magic tree: what does it grow?

I thought about it and decided that this could be kind of fun  🙂

Now to be truly magic, it doesn’t have to just grow one thing – it can grow something different each day – or whenever I would want something in particular.

I would like to start out with a few crops of money to get out of debt (mortgage), buy a new car, have more reno’s done on my house and (of course) take my trip to Africa.  After that, money would become a secondary crop – maybe once a month or so.  Everything would grow in a day – or even just a few hours.  One morning I might want oranges – so it becomes a magic orange tree that day – but the next day I might want  steak and potatoes, so that would be my crop the next day.  Oh – gotta have mushrooms with steak, so one of the branches would grow mushrooms.  And a bottle of wine would go great with that meal, so grapes can be growing on another branch to make some wine.

I might decide I want new cutlery one day – so that would be a crop for another day.   We could have a fruit day with all sorts of yummy fruits – blueberries, apples, peaches, pears, amarula (ooops – that’s not a fruit – its a liqueur), kiwis and so on.

It’s kind of fun to imagine that I could go out into my backyard to pick whatever I wanted that day from a tree.  🙂

Back to earth – it is currently -15C with a windchill of -25C and is supposed to drop down to -26C overnight.  Not quite what I was hoping for at this time of year.  It is time to start melting those piles of snow.  Chester and I had our walk along the Red River after I got home from work and before I went out for supper.

On Africam today, we saw Cape Buffalo, Black Backed Jackals, Wildebeests, Baboons, Impalas, Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes and more.  You can take a look at the pictures here.
