No doubt about it, but autumn has arrived. The days and nights are cooler, I have the heat turned on in the house and the leaves are disappearing from the trees. We are getting quite a bit of rain and the ground is really absorbing it after the very dry summer we had. Today we have pictures of the mushrooms growing in an old tree stump, the trees along the Red River and one of the new additions to Toucan Ridge in the Assiniboine Park Zoo – an Ocelot.
Too bad the sun wasn’t shining for this river picture. It is not out this morning either and it won’t be long before there are no leaves left on any of these trees. Chester and I will be leaving for our walk in a few minutes.
The Ocelot is a beautiful little cat and I wasn’t sure if I would get much of a picture because he was staying at the back behind some rocks. I watched him for awhile and then walked around some more before coming back. He had just received some food before I returned and was right in front of the viewing area with no one else around.
On Africam today, we have seen Wildebeest, Zebra, Bushbuck, Elephant, Kudu, Giraffe, Vervet Monkey, Warthog, Impala, Nyala. Click here to see today’s pictures.
