It is time for a Chester update. 🙂
If you have been following my blog or my facebook updates at all, you will know that December was a very bad month for Chester. He had 5 seizures in a little over 2 weeks. I gave him his Christmas presents early because I honestly did not know if he would make it to Christmas or not.
Until then he had pretty much stabilized with 1 seizure every 4 weeks or so for the previous 4 months. Prior to that was the initial seizures, which also came close together as we got him started on the meds.
Since that cluster of 5 in December and the increase in the meds in the middle of those 5, he has now been seizure free since December 19th. This is now just over the 4 weeks span that he had been having and he can still obviously have more seizures, but at least he is back on track again.
Just as I was writing this, he brought one of his Christmas toys to me – so I took his picture (of course).
He was a little too close for the best picture, but I am putting it up here anyway.
The cold weather has finally hit here, but we’re more than half way past January now, so winter can not be all that bad. It is currently -25C with a windchill of -34C. Chester and I will have a short walk this morning.
On Africam today (after 2 days or torrential rainfall), we have seen lots of water in places where there is normally no water. It has stopped raining for now and we have seen critters though. So far today, we have seen Zebra, Water Monitor, Wildebeest, Impala, Woolly-necked Stork, Warthog, African Comb Duck, Giraffe, Hadeda Ibis, Three-banded Plover, Terrapin, Elephant, Red Duiker and Crested Guinea Fowl.
