It looks like the rain has now ended – at least for today, so maybe I will be able to get some pictures when Chester and I go on our walk in a little while. After days of rain, the sun sure looks wonderful this morning.
Pictures taken from the last time I visited the Assiniboine Park have been filling in on the days I didn’t take the camera while we went on a quick walk in that rain.
Today we have a couple of pelicans from the pond in the zoo.
I missed my chance to get pelicans in the wild again this year. It seems there are only a couple of days when they hang around Lockport before heading further north to the lakes. With my work schedule, its tough enough to try to find time to drive to Lockport, but certainly not enough to get to the lakes.
Last year I had long weekends all summer long since I wasn’t using my vacation days to go anywhere, but this year, I have to survive on just 2 day weekends – mostly doing chores and errands. It was the 3rd day that gave me time to do the extras.
Of course, I still have my Africam time 🙂
So far on Africam today, we have seen Elephant, Nyala, Waterbuck, Warthog, Vervet Monkey, Woolly-necked Stork, Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Zebra, Impala, Lion, Giraffe, Black-backed Jackal, Common Duiker and Hyaena. Click here to see all the pictures from May 30.
