Orange Striped Butterfly

Sometimes it is hard trying to find the names of birds that I photograph, but finding names of butterflies seems even harder.  I’ll probably have to go back to the Assiniboine Park Zoo to find out all the names of the different butterflies they have in the butterfly garden before I find out.  By searching for Orange Striped Butterfly, I found pictures, but none of them have the name – unless it is just called Orange Striped Butterfly.

Another of my favourite’s in the Butterfly Garden was this butterfly – beautiful, whether its wings are open or closed.  If I find out what he is, I will update later.

At least with this guy, you can tell it is the same one whether his wings are open or closed.

These butterflies are exotics, so not found in Canada – but I’m sure I can do a bit more searching to find the ID.  It might help to know what country he is from though.

So far on Africam today, we have seen the Black Eagle and chick, Waterbuck, Elephant, Kudu, Nyala, Wildebeest, Salome and her cubs, Zebra, Giraffe, Black-backed Jackal and Side-striped Jackal.  Click here to see all of today’s pictures.
