I have mentioned the Forks before, where the Red and Assiniboine Rivers meet – so it is now time to show you a bit of this area.
I took this picture from a bridge over the Assiniboine River – showing the Red River on the other side of the trees and the Assiniboine River flowing into the Red from this side. After this it continues north as the Red River.
This shows a bit more of the actual fork and also shows the St. Boniface Hospital and the Research Buildings across the rivers. I was born in the St. Boniface Hospital and so was my daughter.
Now, we are looking at the Forks from the other side of the bridge. The buildings of the Forks are all behind the trees, but we can see the docks and pedestrian paths along the Assiniboine River. The boat is just leaving the dock here. I believe it is one of the water taxis.
Bye-bye – enjoy the ride. 🙂
