As I walked out the door with Chester to go for our walk yesterday, I heard the sound of a hot air balloon just above me. I looked up to see the ReMax Balloon float by. Then I looked for the CTV balloon, which is usually very near and it was just coming over the school near my house.
I quickly snapped pictures of both of them and then Chester and I headed to the Red River. Then I noticed a third balloon coming along. I hadn’t seen this balloon before, and couldn’t see a name on it for awhile. Finally, it turned so I could see that it was a Sundance Balloon.
I’m glad that Chester is fine with these balloons. I know some dogs are terrified of the noise it makes when they release the flame, but he has never had any problem with them. Since the first two often fly over us as we are walking, that could be a problem if he was afraid. Some dogs are just afraid of this huge thing floating by above them.
I’d love to go on one of the balloons some day. They are fairly close to the ground, but high enough to get a nice view. Other than when they release the flame, it is a very quiet ride.
Between work and watching the cameras on Africam, things have settled back into the usual routine again. I’m buying my lottery tickets in the hope that I can soon return to Africa.
