Report from the Winter Storm Front

OK – so, its not much of a storm.  We’ve received little bit of snow (about 6 inches so far) and a little bit of wind.  The wind has died down this morning and is expected to pick up again by the afternoon and more snow is expected, but things are under control.

The winter storm warning is still on and the weather will interfere with some of the ceremonies planned for today’s Remembrance Day though.  The streets are not great, but if everyone would just stay off them for a day or so, the city will have them all plowed and we’ll be back in business.

I put my mukluks on for the walk with Chester this morning.  I don’t wear them often and they are slippery on smooth hard snow, but most of the walk I was plowing through snow a few inches deep and that would have meant cold wet feet if I had worn my regular gym shoes.  We went for a shortened walk because walking was hard, but had more of a workout than our usual walk.  🙂

I shoveled the front and back steps after the walk as well as the sidewalk leading to the front sidewalk.  The back sidewalk and parking area is for later.
