I spent some time yesterday taking out all the stuff that has accumulated in my car over the last 11 years. I took out 2 large bags – one for the stuff I was keeping and one for the stuff that was going into the garbage.
After breakfast and Chester’s walk this morning, I headed over to pick up my new car.
Good-bye 2002 Chevy Cavalier.
Hello 2010 Chevy Cobalt
I have never had much in the way of automatic anything in a car before, but this one has lots. The Cavalier did have auto door locks and it had cruise control.
The Cobalt has auto start, auto locks, auto lights and I can adjust the mirrors all my from seat. I’ve never heard of auto lights before, but I will not have to turn them on or off – the car looks after that itself, so no more beeps if I forget to turn them off myself. It has cruise control, but an easier one to use with the buttons on the steering wheel. Also on the steering wheel is access to lots of information, including 2trip odometers, the outside temperature, distance to travel on the amount of gas remaining, average speed since last re-set, which doors to be unlocked when vehicle put in park, when to do oil change and more. I still have to find the time to go through all the options.
The Cavalier lasted 10 years and is still in decent shape – lets see how long the Cobalt lasts. 🙂
Off I head to Africam now – via (where else) Africam. 🙂
