We’ve had a couple of rainy, snowy days, but I sure hope spring will fight back and get on track again. I am still behind in my pictures and today’s are from the 30th. It was very cool and raining when I took the pictures and then the snow started in the afternoon. The snow continued for the rest of the day and over night.
These pictures show how dark and dreary it was when Chester and I walked. They also show that the Red River is certainly rising. I actually remembered to get a picture of the big tree across the river – but zooming in the rain just got a very blurry picture.
Tomorrow I will show May 1st pictures – but I’m going to jump ahead to talk about my evening on May 1st.
The YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg presented the Women of Distinction Awards last night and I was lucky enough to be in attendance for this gala affair. I did not take any pictures, but the room looked wonderful, and I met and saw a lot of very dedicated women. I sat at a table with 3 past recipients of the award and their stories kept us entertained during the dinner. There were many amazing women who were nominated for the awards and choosing the winners would have been a very difficult decision – but any one of the nominees could have won without complaint. Congratulations to the nominees and the the recipients!
It is time to head off to Africam before I have to leave for work. See you there.
