Digg used to be a site where you would digg something on the internet and they would keep a list of the sites that got the most diggs. I’m not 100% sure if that really helped the sites or not, since the only ones who looked at the diggs were the people who put the diggs in?
Anyway, I have an account there and recently they started sending out messages with some interesting information. I usually scan through the headlines and brief info about most of the items and will maybe look at the full item for a couple of them. You know how much I enjoy my mug cakes – right? Yesterdays Digg article had a link to a site that had so many more mug foods. You can eat all your meals out of a mug now. 🙂
It was breakfast time, so I even tried one yesterday. It was Mug French Toast! It will take me a long time to get through all of these, but thought I would show them for you to think about too. This page also has links to other pages, but I haven’t even begun to explore them yet. One of the nice things about these mug meals is that you make the amount you want to make. There are no leftovers and each meal is made fresh in just a minute or 2.
Like my mug cakes, these are not all healthy foods, but there is Mug Oatmeal, Mug Quiche and enough information and links, that you can learn to make almost anything you want in a mug – or single serving size.
Meals/Snacks in a Mug is where you will find links to each of the 18 mug foods.
French Toast in a Mug will take you directly to the one I had for breakfast yesterday. Of course I made a couple of slight changes as I was doing it, so I’ll give you the details here.
I took a couple of slices of bread and cubed them and as it says, any bread is fine. I used a multi grain bread.
I did not butter the inside of the mug. I’m not sure why that would be necessary.
I put the cubed bread in the mug.
I mixed the egg, milk, cinnamon and a drop of vanilla in a bowl and poured that into the mug over the bread. Most of the liquid went directly to the bottom of the mug though, so I dumped it all back into the bowl that I mixed the egg/milk mixture and got the bread all covered in the liquid before putting it back into the mug. The recipe said to smooch it down and wait for the liquid to go up, but I’ll probably just mix the liquid first next time, add the bread and do the same as I did again next time too.
Since I used my large mug, I put it in the microwave for 1 min 30 sec instead of going for 1 min and adding 10 sec until it is done. It came out perfect. I put a bit of syrup into the cup and enjoyed my breakfast. 🙂
Sorry I didn’t take any pictures, but I took a picture of the Lilacs next door so we have something to look at. Isn’t it beautiful?
I may try Meatloaf in a Mug next or maybe the Cinnamon Bun in a Mug or Cheesecake in a Mug or . .
Let me know if you try any of these.
Time for Chester and I to head out on our walk now and then I can check into Africam. Have a great day.
