Birds and Flowers

Chester and I saw a family of Mallard Ducks (the ducklings are almost as big as Mom now) on our walk yesterday.  We also saw some wild flowers (no idea what they are) and in the distance I could see a beautiful Bald Eagle, but he was too far away for me to even attempt any pictures of him.  The eagles do not often come into the city, but this is the 2nd or third time I have seen one there.  I think I got a blurry picture one time, but the other times I was unable to even snap any.  I am always so shocked at seeing one that I do not react quick enough to get a picture.

We had some rain over night giving us a beautiful fresh morning.  It got hot and humid later in the day, but the morning was wonderful!

I have added the names of the flowers after my friend Howwa let me know what I was looking at.  🙂  Thanks Howwa!

  1. After taking a close look at the leaves, I believe the morning glory type wild flower to be bindweed. A long time ago, on the farm we just called it tangle weed or wild morning glory. I enjoy seeing its radiant flowers on my morning walks in Wood County, Ohio! What do you call it in your province?

    1. I don’t know my wildflowers at all – but searching online for bindweed or wild morning glory get the same pages – so I think you are right. It says it is a bindweed in the morning glory family. Searching for tangle weed, the results are different, although one refers to bindweed as well – so they are obviously similar. Thanks for all your work to track down the info for me Howwa. 🙂
