There always seems to be a mushroom or 10 growing somewhere in my yard, but this year I’ve had a bumper crop of them. They always seem different and I have no idea how or why they suddenly start growing.
Just before cutting my lawn the other day, I snapped a few pictures of some of the hundred or so that had come up in the last few days. There only seem to be 2 different types here, but there were lots of both of them.

In other news, I managed to cut and bundle the branches I took down on Friday. I hope my bundle isn’t too heavy to be picked up, carried 2 feet and put into the truck. I carried it from inside my yard out to the back of the fence, but then I don’t have a weight restriction as to what I can carry.
As usual, the smaller pieces went into one of the yard debris bags, but I still haven’t filled that bag. I refuse to put out a 1/2 bag, so I’m keeping it until the next pickup when I’m sure I will finally have it filled. I still have to tackle the Hawthorne tree in the front yard – so I’m expect that will give me plenty to put in it.
I think if I can get myself a power saw of some kind, I should be able to look after that Hawthorne tree on my own. With all the cutting I do, I could probably put it to good use over the years.
It was a very hot and humid day here yesterday. I’m glad I tackled my yard work early so I could hide in my air conditioned house for the rest of the day. Even Chester was happy to be inside for most of the afternoon.
