More of This and That

I’ve got another day with 2 or 3 little things to tell you about.

Another beautiful kitty sighting (a Leopard) at Elephant Plains on Africam – and the main excitement about that is that I didn’t miss him.

A trip to Target – Canadian Target doesn’t seem to measure up to American Target.

A Mango seed I planted a couple of weeks ago is growing.

Craven, my daughter’s cat comes upstairs to say hi.

I haven’t see anything posted on the Elephant Plains Facebook page to indicate who this handsome guy is.

I don’t have pictures of my trip to Target, but I can tell you my sad story.  I’ve only gone there about 3 times since they opened in Winnipeg.  The first couple of times, I bought a few items, but not much and check-out was quick with lots of tellers open and no lineups.  I am not someone who goes shopping for much more than groceries though and since the store closest to me is not a Super Target and does not carry fresh produce, I have very little reason to go there.  I just needed a few items that I knew Target would carry when I went there yesterday.  I picked up about 10 items and headed towards the check-out to find that only 2 were open and there were huge lineups at both of them.  There was no express lineup for only a few items and most of the people had full carts of back-to-school items.  I saw someone who looked like a manager coming towards the check-outs and hoped he would arrange to open more lines, but when he didn’t, I headed back to put away my frozen items.  I left the rest in the cart, which I abandoned and went to another store.

I like to plant fruit seeds.  The Orange Tree that I’ve talked about here before is from a seed that I planted almost 40 years ago.  I ate a mango a few weeks ago and decided to plant the seed.  It is growing nicely and is about 6 inches tall now, so I took some pictures.  🙂  I will keep you updated on its growth.

Fruit Flies are everywhere right now and I found a few on my little Mango seedling.  The bottom leaves seem to be in rough shape and probably from them, but I’ve sprayed the little guys so hopefully it will grow big and strong now.

Craven was recently diagnosed with Diabetes and is now getting 2 shots of insulin daily.  He seems to be doing much better since he has been getting the insulin.
