Day Lilies and Road Work

A few of my Day Lilies did decide to bloom this year.  There are probably 50 plants or so and about 4 or 5 had blooms.  Maybe, instead of removing them all, I should remove about 90% of them.  They take up a large area for a few flowers.  For now they are still safe though as the tree pruning is the top item on the list and I haven’t got a date yet when that will happen.

There were workmen at the site yesterday where part of the road had dropped, when Chester and I were on our walk yesterday.  They weren’t working – but they were there.  I should have taken a picture.  🙂  There were 5 of them and they were looking over the railing at the stuff that had been thrown down there and they seemed to be discussing how to get it up.  I’ll find out more on today’s walk (maybe).

FYI – their options for getting the stuff up are:

Two or Three could go down there and pass it up to the others.  They can get down there by climbing over the railing and jumping or putting a ladder there and climbing down or walking 150 yards (137 meters) to the ramp.  It is approximately a 3 yard or 2.7 meter drop down there.

They could all go down there and carry it up by taking it to the ramp.

Or, I guess they could call the guys back who threw it down there and let them bring it back up.

I hope it doesn’t take them too long to figure it out.  They didn’t ask me, so I didn’t supply the options to them yesterday.
