The road construction on the bank beside the road along the Red River continues. Because of the cyst/lump on Chester’s leg, we haven’t been walking down there every day and since it is dark when we walk now anyway, we haven’t seen much.
I did take a couple of pictures on Saturday morning though. The big tall equipment was up on the road on that morning. They have put a post in the ground away from the rest of the work, which makes me wonder if they will be moving along this stretch of road to do more. The post is well outside the fenced off area down there.
Possibly unrelated and possibly not – the whole area where they are working is generally underwater during our spring floods. That was not the case this last spring, but most years before that. I often had pictures of the trees behind the equipment being surrounded by water. We all know that water can do a lot of damage and with this road being so close to regular flooding over the years, I am thinking that the work down there is to stabilize the bank.
I may (or may not) learn more as the construction continues. 🙂
See you on Africam – have a great day!
