Winter Wonderland

Whether we like it or not, it is now winter here in Winterpeg.  It was minus twenty something when Chester and I went for our walk along the Red  River – but the sun was shining brightly since we walked a little later than usual.  Yesterday we walked later – but not this late and I’ve got the same pictures taken at the same place to show the difference that the sun makes.  It would be a dreary world without that sunshine.

The ice is probably safe for up to bunny sized critters now, which might include a small house cat – but certainly not safe for people to walk on yet and still lots or areas not frozen at all.

Chester complained about stopping for pictures today, since it was pretty chilly and his feet got cold so he stuck his tongue out at me.

If you haven’t checked out Africam lately, you’ll be surprised at how large our Black Eagle Chick is now.  🙂  We also have a new camera installed at Naledi and you might want to take a look at it too. I never tire of the sights and sounds on the cameras there.

  1. Oh my that is cold, but it looks beautiful in the sunshine……we have had some sun today in between loads of rain…..just making everything so wet and damp at this time of year 🙂
