My last day in Minneapolis got off to a good start with a bit of blue showing in the sky and the promise of some sun peaking through the clouds. 🙂
Hazel suggested that we take advantage of the weather and go for a walk at a place not far from my hotel. It was a beautiful place for a walk. The grass is green and the trees are starting to show hope of budding. We had quite a bit of sunshine during the walk and although it did start threatening to rain a bit we stayed dry. The birds were singing as we walked and of course, talked.
After the walk we stopped for lunch and then headed over to the Mall of America to visit Sea Life.
Pictures taken there didn’t turn out because you can’t use flash (which helps stop movement for an instant for the picture) – but Olivia was happy to pose for a picture for us and we had one taken as we went in also.
After going through on our own we went for a behind the scenes tour. Instead of being under the water in the tunnels, we were looking down and into the water from above. We saw some of the critters in care for injury or illness and some of the ones that wanted to get away on their own as there are places off in a corner where they can do that. Olivia was very concerned about a Zebra Shark that was in care because of a bite to his tail, but they told her that he was being looked after daily and would be just fine.
After leaving the Mall of America it was time for another meal 🙂
I ate very well again and then we went back to my hotel, where Olivia played with the toys in the lobby while Hazel and I talked and had coffee/tea.
We said our good-byes, since I would be leaving very early in the morning – right after breakfast.
The ride home was very uneventful, a few more showers, but mostly sunny skies. I stopped for gas twice and arrived back home with 3/4 tank of gas left.
There was a longer lineup at the border going north, but it moved along fairly quickly and I wasn’t stopped except to answer the usual questions and then was on my way.
Total mileage – 1541.0 km or 957.5 miles.
Chester and Jewel were happy to have me home again. I don’t think Freddy noticed. 🙂
