Canada Geese and The Red River

Today, we have a couple of pictures of Canada Geese along the Red River.  We also have the big tree across the Red River to show that the river has already dropped in levels and will now continue to drop throughout the summer.

The big tree across the river is so useful to use while checking the levels.  🙂

Although the geese will nest on the river bank, I notice that most of the Canada Geese seem to prefer ponds that are surrounded by nice grass lawns.  We have a lot of ponds or man made lakes in the city and these are crowded with Canada Geese.  🙂

I managed to do some raking in the yard yesterday and filled another large bag of yard waste for the city to pick up.  I really like that I don’t have to rush to get everything done in a 2 day weekend, since I made this one into a 5 day weekend and as of the end of the month, every day will be a weekend.  This way I can do a bit and then move on to something else.  Chester is enjoying more time outside while I rake and we are sometimes taking more than one walk a day now.

The weather isn’t hot yet – but it is getting into the low to mid teens the last few days and the sun is shining – so I’m not complaining.
