Yesterday I took some pictures of my Peony as the flowers are opening beautifully.
This morning I went out to take more pictures, only to find that the 2 largest ones from yesterday are gone. They weren’t broken off in the storm last night (which wasn’t even much of a storm), or they would have been on the ground.
Someone had come into my yard and snipped them right off.
The almost open bud from yesterday has opened, so all I am left with are 3 flowers and a few more buds. I have noticed that the peony’s first flowers are always the best ones. It seems the plant puts most of its resources towards the first ones and the rest get smaller and smaller as they open.
