The Rise and Fall of the Red

Today is my Mother’s birthday.  Last year we celebrated her 90th birthday, so I guess this one must be 91!  🙂  Happy Birthday Mom!

The Red River has had it’s ups and downs this year.  We had the spring rise as the snow melted and headed north to the lakes.  Then it dropped as that subsided and then we had rains after rains and it rose again.  Finally it is dropping although still above the normal summer levels.

It does seem like summer has finally arrived and the hot dry weather is with us.  🙂

You can tell that it is fairly dark in today’s picture and that is because we had some storm clouds all around as I was taking the picture.

Shortly after Chester and I got home after our walk, we did get some rain – but it wasn’t much and now the sun is shining.  There is a chance of thundershowers this afternoon though.
