Things

Things are not moving as smoothly lately as they have been, but I am sure everything will be on track again soon.  The main problem is my job, which unfortunately I need to survive.  One of my supervisors decided to remove me from one of my clients without any particular reason, except that he could.  Of course this was the sweetest client anyone could have – and I guess someone else (who has more pull maybe) decided she wanted her.  So, now I am short on hours and taking whatever crumbs they decide to throw at me.  Another of my clients will probably end at the end of October, leaving me with only 3 regular hours per week, which is obviously not enough to live on.  I have some days booked to work at the Adult Day Program at the Y for the next 2 weeks, which is really helping for now.

Anyway – Chester and I are going on our walks every day and I am taking pictures so I have some to show you from the last few days.  I hope the current weather lasts for a few more weeks.  🙂   I also hope for a lottery win.  🙂

Oct 15 – This is a lovely wild growth area that Chester loves to look down at.  I’m sure he hears interesting sounds.

Now that we are walking twice a day to keep my FitBit happy 🙂 I have some afternoon pictures as well as morning pictures.  It is often dark when we have our morning walks because the sun refuses to come out to play as early as it did in the summer.

On the FitBit front, I made my first 17,000 step day yesterday, but have regularly been at or close to 16,000 every day for most of the last week.  The extra walks with Chester are helping and I do some steps every 1/2 hour when I am at the computer in the evenings.  I picked up a new pair of spikes to put on my shoes once the snow and ice arrive too, but really can’t walk far when it is bitterly cold outside anyway.  I have lost 5 1/2 pounds in the 4 weeks since I started.

  1. Reflections in ‘red river’ are amazing. Sorry to hear about your lack of hours work and hope soon will improve so you’ve enough to live on.
Love to Chester from Fan. She’s still settling in but loves her long walks with me.

  3. Oh man Mavis, I don’t need to hear that about your job, when I am excited about going into the same field. But the organization that I am working at is not the big for profit companies. The people seem very kind and respectful, as I said in my Facebook post. I got my first client today, but haven’t been able to contact them yet. Good luck with all of that.
