We normally get a nice thaw in February, which helps us make it through the mixed bag of weather we get in March. That did not happen this year and we had our coldest temperatures throughout the month. The good news for the skaters and river walkers is that the river trail is still open, whereas it normally closes before the end of February.
The usual “In like a Lion (Lamb) – Out like a Lamb (Lion)” is often what we see in March.
Right now it is looking like “In Like a Lamb” is a good possibility since it suddenly warmed up a bit yesterday and today. I would much rather it go out like a Lamb, but obviously have no say in the matter. With luck (right – good luck with that), March will come in AND go out like a Lamb.
I have a few pictures taken over the last couple of weeks to show you.
I am not sure what this trail is (or was) for, but it suddenly appeared a few days ago. It might have something to do with the Festival du Voyageur. The skating and walking trails are just across the river, but those keep on going, while the new one stops here.
The sunrise is coming a bit earlier now, so it is not always dark when Chester and I head out for our walks in the morning.
