Yesterday, we started to walk around at Fort Whyte – well, actually on Monday, but I started writing about it on Wednesday. 🙂
Today, we will continue – first with more ducks. Wood Ducks on one of the floating boardwalks and then a duckling on its own – think it is a Mallard. Then a dragonfly stopped on a board to pose for me. Don’t think I’ve ever taken a decent picture of a dragonfly before.

Last time I was at Fort Whyte, I found the bird hide and this trip I went back to it again. I don’t think the hide was actually lost – but I just didn’t know about it. 😉

In the top window above, you can see a bird feeder and something black – I zoomed in from outside the hide, through the window and got this Red-wing Blackbird.

Then I went inside the hide and got the next two pictures.

I wandered around some more and found the Buffalo, a Pelican and a Spotted Sandpiper.

The Pelican either caught something – or just missed something here.

I stopped and took some flower pictures as there were beautiful wildflowers everywhere – but this Lady’s Slipper was a really nice find.

Lots of these yellow flowers everywhere, but I have no idea what they are.

I found one of the young Groundhogs again before leaving and he let me get quite close to him.

Another place I went for the first time was the treehouse.

The pictures of the Buffalo (above) were actually taken from up in the treehouse. You can get a really nice view from up there.
Lovely pictures as allways, love the Ground hog and the slipper orchid.
