October 19th is election day in Canada. Polls are open from 8:30 am – 8:30 pm, giving everyone enough time to put their vote in. Every vote counts! If everyone decided to vote, the entire system could be changed and the poll predictors would have no way of predicting the outcome. So – get off your butts everyone and vote. Let’s shake things up.
A couple of weeks ago, Chester and I were on our morning walk as usual. All was fine until we got to the river part of our walk and found there were no lights at all. It was close to full moon, so we could see somewhat and continued on anyway. At one point, I could see something on the path ahead of us coming our way. It was a critter of some kind, but it was still a distance ahead of us and I couldn’t say what it was. I suspected it was a dog, since was certainly larger than a cat and the movement seemed to be like a dog. With the leash laws in the city, we don’t see many dogs out on their own. Suddenly this critter obviously spotted Chester and I. I saw it stop suddenly, pause for a couple of seconds and and then turn and disappear very quickly. That got me thinking that instead of a dog, this might have been the Coyote that I had seen early last spring (or one of his friends or relatives). It is unlikely that I will ever know for sure what it was though.
Although I don’t mentioned it often, a major part of my life is still involved with Africam. I have a link to the site at the top right of my blog and I am there daily to keep an eye on the cams and forum. Today I just returned home from getting groceries and got an alert that Lions were at Naledi. Of course, I had to check it out and got these wonderful pictures of a great sighting. I didn’t really need to rake the leaves off my yard today 🙂 and I’m sure I will find another day I can get it done.
I still haven’t figured out this retirement thing. I am now working 5 days a week – although only 2 of those days are 8 hour days and the rest are 5 hours. The hours are divided between 2 part-time jobs. Has anyone seen a book Retirement for Dummies, so I can figure out how to actually retire? I think it has to start with how to win a lottery so I can afford it.
