I dislike unpacking much more than packing. I still have several boxes to unpack, but I don’t seem to be finding the items I want. They must all be in the bottom boxes. That is my push to keep going, I guess.
I still have to pack more at the house to bring over and I really don’t know if everything will end up with a place here, but once everything is here I can decide what can stay and what has to go.
For now, I have put the bed mattress on the floor and made it up as if it was up on the frame. Chester and I have both slept just fine this way and I don’t have a rush to get anything else at this time until other things are settled (like unpacking and emptying and cleaning the house).
Chester and I have had our first couple of days in our new apartment. I was quite concerned about Chester learning to do his eliminations outside the yard at the house, but he picked it up much quicker than I thought he would. I got some excellent advice from some online friends on FaceBook about encouraging him to pee outside the yard to get him started. It was never a problem while we lived in the house – since the yard was always there and it was easy to let him out when he wanted to go. He made sure he always eliminated before our walks so that there was nothing to do on the walks except look for squirrels and bunnies.
I hope Chester perks up soon. He has lost his enthusiasm. He just plods along on our walks and I don’t know if that is just because there doesn’t seem to be any squirrels or bunnies in the area to stalk. They may be some along the river – but we haven’t gone back after he brought home several wood ticks on our first walk there.
Update (before I even posted this) 🙂 We just went back to the house to pick up a few things and he was excited and raced around while checking out all the spots where he often finds the bunnies in the yard. So – I’m sure he will be fine once he gets used to the new routine. I was a little worried that something was actually wrong with the old guy.
Time to grab another box and empty it. Updates to continue! 🙂
Oh – I found out that I have a view of the sunset – at this time of year anyway. I snapped a couple of pics of it and just took a couple of Chester having a nap.
