On Monday, I left Winnipeg – heading for Vancouver. My nephew’s funeral was set for Tuesday morning. This would be my first flight with West Jet and the plane was scheduled to leave Winnipeg at 6:20 am. I decided to spend the night at the Best Western Hotel very close to the airport, so I didn’t have to get up quite so early to get there and I had a place to leave my car while I was gone.
It is a gorgeous hotel for a reasonable price, but I wasn’t there long enough to find out what else it offered other than the very comfortable room. At 4:30 am, I headed over to the airport with the shuttle and got settled in the waiting room after having a bite to eat for breakfast at one of the many places inside.
The plane was loaded on scheduled and soon we were off.
Looking behind us as we went, I could see the start of the sunrise coming up – which is where it stayed for the entire flight. We kept moving west and the sun was always just on the horizon back there.
I took a lot of pictures so I will group them together – but if you would like to see them in larger size, just click on them to scroll through.
As we hit the 2nd range of mountains when we were almost there, the tops of the tallest mountains were starting to show the sun shining on them. Speaking of the mountains – they were absolutely gorgeous with no clouds to be seen. As we landed in Vancouver, the sun was just rising here.
Getting close to the ocean and Vancouver now. It has been a nice flight.
Some of the pictures (maybe several) are out of order unfortunately. Since I am just on my little laptop, I couldn’t upload them all at the same time and by doing so in small groups, they did get out of order.
