The Forks – end of March

I decided to wander over to the Forks to see how spring is progressing there.  The snow is pretty much gone, but the ice still remains on both the rivers – obviously not strong enough for even the geese to walk on in places though.

The ice hut made from blocks of ice taken from the river is melting.  🙂

The Canada Geese were fun to watch as they walked on & fell through the thin ice.  Further down, I have a video of this.

I followed the wet & muddy trail to the bridge over the river by walking on the cement blocks.

Some views from the bridge looking back to the Forks and over to the actual Red and Assiniboine Rivers fork.

And now the video of the Canada Geese vs the thin ice on the Assiniboine River.
