Adventures in House/Dog Sitting

Time is just flying by too fast and I haven’t had time to sit down and write anything here in much too long.  This should have been posted about 3 weeks ago – but here it is.  🙂

Toby and I both managed to survive a few days together again when his family went away on vacation.  Of course, I knew we would all survive (including the fish), but as usual, it was an adventure.  🙂

Having had a couple of Irish Setters in my live, I am quite used to very active dogs, but Toby, as well as being active, is a very large dog (at about double the weight of my Setters).  He never gets tired out – although the same could be said for Irish Setters.  Maybe it is just that I was younger back then!

Toby loves his toys, but he usually wants someone (me) to play with them, with him.  It is no fun to chew on a chew toy unless someone tries to take it away from  him.  He would bring me his toy so I would attempt to take it away.

We went on walks.  🙂

The above pictures were more sniffing than walking, but there must have been something that smelled very interesting.  The below photo was taken before the big sniff fest, but maybe there was another one close by.

We watched White-tail Deer out the back door.  🙂

Toby even quietly watched the deer while he was outside.

We rested.

We watched more deer – actually probably the same ones, but on different days.

I saw these lumps in the snow/bush and didn’t remember seeing them before, so had to zoom in on them.  Above picture is zoomed and below is zoomed more.

Toby loves everyone and we had fun – and he was so excited when his family came home!

  1. Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work on your blog.
