Well, I have moved again. It is almost time to use No Fixed Address (NFA) to locate me – LOL. I went from living in my own home for over 30 years to 3 moves in the last 3 years.
I started packing early for the move, since I would be away from home while looking after a couple of adorable Cockatiels for the first 2 weeks of March, and my moving date was set for the end of March. So – it seems like I’ve been living with boxes everywhere for 2 months now.
I did a post about the Cockatiels (Eva and Thomas) while I was there, but then my mother complicated things by ending up in the hospital for some of that time. Between the bird sitting, the visits to the hospital, the volunteering at the Assiniboine Park Zoo and the packing – there wasn’t much in between time to post anything here.
My mom is back at home again and doing fine and I did make my move. I still have a few boxes to unpack and figure out where things will end up in this apartment, but so far I am pretty much settled in here.
Here is my living room, kitchen & bedroom before I brought my stuff in. The kitchen is very small, but it actually has a good amount of cupboard space. Its not as if I do a lot of cooking anyway. 🙂
Here is a view of the living room the morning after the move, and then a few hours later after getting help from a friend to put things somewhat in order.
Here is a view from the other direction of the same room – again, before & after.
Some things have moved since then, but I’m waiting until everything has a place of its own to take any more pictures. I still have some stuff in my car to bring upstairs.
Other than the actual moving week, I was at the zoo often, so here is one photo of one of the Polar Bears. Please note that all the Polar Bears at the zoo were orphans that were rescued and would not have survived if left on their own in the wild.
Now, I am living close to the downtown area of the city and very close to all conveniences. I am much closer to the zoo and my commute there has been cut at least in 1/2 and does not involve any highway driving to get there. It is also a very short walk to the Assiniboine River.
It is quite a bit noisier here, but I am getting used to that and have had mostly very good sleeps at night. I do see birds flying by, but I think I am too high up to attract any of the little birds. I might put my feeder out, just in case though.
