Prairie Dogs at Fort Whyte Alive

The Prairie Dog town at Fort Whyte Alive is one area you can visit without paying admission fee.  These guys live just outside the entrance.  I often stop in my car on the way out of there to take pictures if I see any activity.

They can sure be fun to watch sometimes.  I have walked right into their town a few times and it doesn’t take long for them to start watching me, watching them.

    1. Yes, they do live in underground burrows and are very common in North America. They live in communities (called Prairie Dog towns) and have lookouts stationed to warn the others if predators approach. It is certainly fun watching them.
