Windchill at Fort Whyte Alive

It looked like a beautiful morning today and the temperature was starting at -4C this morning and rising to -1C during the day.  Unfortunately the forecast didn’t mention the wind and therefore the windchill.  It wasn’t just that I just missed it, since I talked to others who said the same thing.  I didn’t realize this until I arrived at Fort Whyte Alive to go for a walk.

Of course, I walked anyway.  πŸ™‚   It was a shorter walk than usual (since I hadn’t dressed for -30 something temperatures), but I got some photos.

I would much rather see these scenes, with water instead of snow covered ice and with the leaves on the trees instead of on the ground, but this is life in Winnipeg.  πŸ™‚

Luckily there were a few birds & squirrels around to keep me company and some of them even posed for photos.  πŸ™‚

I stopped at the TeePee to go inside and get out of the wind for a minute or 2 and take a couple of photos.  It is surprising how much warmer it felt when the wind couldn’t reach me.

Then I headed back to the entrance and as usual, wandered through the little shop to see what they have available.  They always have lots of adorable merchandise, but today they had some items that I decided to take some photos and show the world.  πŸ™‚

It is quite a small shop, but they always have unique items available there.
