Winnipeg to Vancouver – Day 1, Part 2

After my lunch and then getting signed into my room at the Honeycomb Bed & Breakfast, it was time to head back out to see what I could find.

I headed for the Bison enclosure and on the way, I found this little Black Bear – all by him or her self. He did not stop to say hi, but quickly crossed the road and started eating from a bush. Unfortunately, the bush was between him and I.

I watched him for awhile – hoping he would get out from behind the bush, but finally I decided to continue on. Not far inside the Bison enclosure, I found a momma bear with 3 little babies. I thought they should be larger than these guys after a summer of eating, but they seem to be happy & healthy otherwise.

The last one to leave slowed to say good-bye to me. 🙂

Then into the Bison enclosure where I got a couple of photos of a Red-tail Hawk (I think) flying over and some of the beautiful Bison.

It had clouded over by evening and my sun set photo wasn’t very exciting – but here it is.
