As I was driving along River Road, I passed Captain Kennedy’s House and Gardens and I decided to park and walk around there.

Path from the parking lot to the house & gardens
Start of the gardens
Walkway through the gardens
Some of the beautiful flowers
Beautiful colours
So pretty
Red River in the background
So many flowers
some of the lawn & I see a sign in the background – enlarged below
Unfortunately the house has structural issues and is closed
I think the garbage bags on stakes are there to discourage geese (but not sure)
Little gardens pop up everywhere
The house and more flowers
A little pond behind these flowers
Another big, beautiful tree
The front of the house
Flowers near the front door
More flowers in front
The front door
More flowers on my way out

A few signs near the front entrance

My last photo at this stop.
One more stop on the way home and that will be posted tomorrow.
thanks for this tour too…I haven’t been there this year…and next time will have to look closer at the sign that shows the spots of interest(like the quarry)

Thanks coolquilting – I haven’t stopped here for a few years. Was glad the gardens are still being tended.

I agree Cherie – it is a beautiful place to stop. When the building re-opens, it has a lovely tea house.
