Assiniboine Park – English Gardens & Duck Pond

I decided I needed a bit more of a walk than I had voting yesterday, so decided to head over to Assiniboine Park, to walk and take photos.

First stop was the English Gardens.

  • The flowers are at their peak
  • The water lilies are in full bloom
  • Then this Hummingbird ruined a flower photo
  • I waited for the Hummingbird to return, but her wings are hidden
  • We can see the wings on this Hummingbird, but they are not in a photogenic position.

I waited (as I avoided the sprinklers) for the Hummingbird to return, but she didn’t. So, I left and headed over to the Duck Pond.

  • Downy Woodpecker on the way
  • I stoped at the front of the English Gardens to get a couple of photos of the Boy with the Leaky Boot.
  • Then I zoomed in on him
  • Canada Geese relaxing by the Duck Pond
  • Lots of Canada Geese and Ducks in the Duck Pond
  • Canada Goose & 2 Wood Ducks
  • More flowers as I walked back through the gardens to the car
  • I also stopped to get a photo of this pond in the English Gardens

When I was back home a little later, I heard a Blue Jay calling. I looked out and saw one perched on a dead branch, just off my balcony. He (or she) nicely posed for a few photos – just to end this post nicely. 🙂
