Return to Cheam Lake Wetlands

The last few times I’ve gone to the wetlands, it has been very quiet. The views are still beautiful, but very little in the way of wildlife. Now that the birds have finished raising their babies, many of the birds have returned and I was even lucky enough to find and photograph a new subject today. There were a lot of clouds in the sky which change the views quite a bit.

The clouds across the mountains really changed the views.

The next one was my new critter – and he (or she) crossed the path right in front of me and then stopped to pose for photos. I took a few photos – but they are all exactly the same since it did not move at all while I was there (other than getting into the position).

What a beautiful Frog!
Canada Goose & Reflection

It was a cool morning and I was wearing my jacket for most of the time.

  1. I’m beginning to suspect that these blue heron follow you around to your various photoshoots, Mavis! Only have one in my neck of the woods, and I have to keep my eyes peeled just for a glimpse. You could publish a calendar!

You’re right: the mountains and clouds make for some very interesting photo composition! Very nice! As for the frog, well, I am more of a toad guy myself. Toads and turtles. On constant guard when I mow the lawn!

Hope the air quality is staying tolerable where you are. I am still here in North Carolina, and we are having some gray days from the northern wildfires. Stay well, stay safe! Cheers, Stumblebum

    1. Thanks Tim. Oh no – you figured out my Heron photos. Maybe I have a pet heron on my balcony and I just take him wherever I go – LOL. I might even take a few geese with me in my travels πŸ˜‰ I haven’t really seen any toads around, but this was my first frog too, so not sure where they hide most of the time.
