As many of you know, I lived in my little old house for 33 years. I sold it when I retired, since I wouldn’t be able to afford the upkeep on it with just my pensions. It was a very old house (built in 1900). I am currently in my 3rd apartment in the 4 years since I first moved out of the house and am now preparing for move to #4. I am hoping this will be the last move for a very long time!
I mentioned in a previous post that I was going to be signing the lease a couple of weeks ago – and that was done after a short delay. This apartment seems to be exactly what I have been looking for. It is much larger than my current one, it has a balcony and is in a residential area, so should be much quieter.
I didn’t have to start packing quite this early, but I decided to box up whatever I wouldn’t be using in the next few weeks. Moving day is set for August 31st, but I get the key on Friday the 28th and will start moving the plants, TV & computers during the weekend. The movers will look after the furniture and boxes.
So, here are a bunch of boxes in my living room. I have a few more in the bedroom too.

This morning, I ignored the boxes and went for a walk at Fort Whyte Alive.
I started off with my ducks in a row. Young Robin Canada Geese on the dock. He hissed at me. Red-winged Blackbird I heard the Dove a long time before finally seeing it. Pelicans over head Bison at the waterhole
Wow another move Mavis. I really don’t enjoy moving and the only moves I have done have been when I worked and the packing/unpacking was done by removalists’ and I still found that very stressful especially moving overseas. I wish you an uneventful move. Lovely photos of the birds.

Thanks Sue – I don’t enjoy moving either – but the new apartment really seems to have what I’ve been looking for.
