Yesterday was my Mom’s funeral. She was 97 years old and had been in a nursing home since just before the start of the COVID-19 shutdowns. Only 10 people are allowed at funerals at this time, so only the basic family here in the city could go.
Today, I needed time in nature, so I headed for Fort Whyte Alive.
White-tailed Deer family moving away after one more look. Red Squirrel hanging out under the bird feeder looking for a snack Another Red Squirrel stopped on a tree to pose for me. Then he smiled at me and posed again One of the Deer met me further along the path Chickadee Walking through the Aspen forest Mallard Ducks are at a small open bit of water Mallard Duck in the water Another Mallard Duck One more Mallard. The open water is getting quite small – but they are staying. Chickadee time I can’t get enough Chickadees – such sweet little birds. Last Chickadee before I headed for home
A little bit of time in nature can sooth the soul.
Absolutely gorgeous! I hope the beauty brought you solace. I am sorry for you loss.

Thanks Sue. I always head into nature when I need time to think. I’m glad there are quite a few spots that fit my needs for nature time around here.
