After a yummy breakfast of French Toast & Bacon at the Whitehouse Bakery, I walked over to Ominnik Marsh for a short stroll.
I didn’t stay at the marsh long and then headed back to Lake Katherine to check out the Loon’s Island Trail that starts there. I’ve gone a little bit into it before, but haven’t really walked it.
Yellow-rumped Warbler This guy landed right in front of me – so I took his photo 🙂 This doesn’t look as wet & muddy as it actually was. I did see a sign (just as I started) that said the trail was impassable due to high water on the lake. This part isn’t impassable and I might have continued if I had another pair of shoes, but I decided to turn back here rather than continue right to the completely impassable spot. I think I covered more than 1/2 the trail anyway – so it was longer to go back than to have continued and (maybe) finished it. Back up the hill!
Then I went back to Wasagaming and took a few more photos. The lake was rougher so no reflections photos – but it was still pretty.
Time to head back to the Honeycomb to download my photos and take it easy until mid afternoon when I will head back out again.
To be continued tomorrow.
