Winter Visit to the Cedar Bog Trail

It has been almost 4 months since I’ve walked the Cedar Bog Trail in Birds Hill Provincial Park. Yesterday was a beautiful day, but last night, the snow and winds returned along with dropping temperatures. I’m happy that I got my walk in when the weather was good.

Now we’re at the trail – it says to enter – so that’s what I did
The snow is certainly prettier than the dirt path, but I miss the grass & the leaves on the trees.
It looks like a lot of people like to walk off trail

This trail has spots where there is a lot of bush and then an opening, before going back into the trees. As I was approaching a treed area after a meadow, I could see Chickadees and Nuthatches flying towards me. I forgot to bring any seed with me though, so they perched on a tree beside me.

Now – this is new. There is a wooden boardwalk under the snow. That wasn’t there last fall when I walked here. It was just a dirt trail.
And this used to be a deer (I think)

Now we’re off the wooden boardwalk and back on the path

It was a beautiful day for a walk and I’m glad I went before the snow started.
