I went for a couple of nice walks today as the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. I’ll get to the photos from today soon, but for now I’ll post the last of my photos taken in the last few days before today.
The first & second photos are of a beautiful Varied Thrush. I had never seen one of these beautiful birds before.
This adorable dog is Squish. He is my grandpuppy and certainly can be quite a handful.
He & my daughter Angie came over for Christmas dinner.
It is hard to get a good photo of Buddy, the Anna’s Hummingbird – but I’ll keep trying.
Last, but certainly not least is the Grey Squirrel who lives in my building. I’ll have to come up with a name for him, so if anyone has suggestions, please let me know. I call it a him, so maybe a male name – even though he/she might be a female – LOL.
He is pretty cute but squirrels can be very destructive so I am not making him into a pet. He can get plenty of food for himself and does not need any encouragement from me. Generally if he comes onto my balcony, I will chase him away and I make sure that the only food on my balcony is hummingbird nectar. I did see him eyeing the hummingbird feeder once and it looked like he might jump at it – so I quickly scared him off.
I cannot say I have had happy experiences with squirrels, Mavis! What say we call him … Chewie?
What an expression on Squish! The teeth, the goatee, the incredulous look? A canine tough guy hipster! Not sure I want to guess at the origins of that name!
Best wishes for a safe and happy New Year! Cheers Stumblebum

Chewie – that would fit him or her. Thanks. Squish was a rescue and lived on the streets before he arrived at the doggie day care where she works. He had to be tough to survive.

Oh – another friend suggested Nutz, so I’m going to wait and see what other suggestions I get for his name and then maybe put the into a hat and pick one.
