Taking a Break

Hopefully this is just a short break, but the problem is that my pc died. It really did not owe me anything. It started off as a Windows 7 and each time (until now) I could just upgrade it as windows upgraded and keep going. But Windows 11 was out of reach.

Then, the pc itself crashed.

So, I bought myself a brand new Windows 11 pc.

It works fine, but I can not use my old & trusty photo app on it. I had been using Photo Gallery from Microsoft – the free version. It was a very easy to use program that did simple corrections (light or dark and adjusted colours and shadows and I could crop and resize of the photos. I can not find it to install. I downloaded 2 or 3 different programs for photos, but have not found one that I feel comfortable with.

So – I am still out walking and taking photos, but can not post them on here without being able to resize them. I will be posting photos on Facebook and anyone wanting to follow me can do so. I will only accept friends if I recognize the name as being someone who follows my blog – but I think anyone can follow me on Facebook. Or maybe I have to do something to allow followers – not sure.

I am still following the same bloggers on wordpress and will still be reading all posts I have fallen behind due to spending so much time trying to figure out how to get back to blogging, but will now catch up.

If anyone has any suggestions for an easy to use photo app, please let me know.

Thanks for your patience everyone!

    1. Thanks for the info Kent. I did click on a couple of photos, but did not double click. I really appreciate knowing how it works. 🙂

  1. Mavis, The built-in Microsoft Photos is simple enough to use or you can look at open source photo editors like https://www.digikam.org/about/ or run a version of Linux Mint Cinnamon operating system in a virtual machine to have more photo editor choices. Here’s a paid version for Windows found in a search. https://lunarship.com

Hopefully one of those choices will help you find an alternative that’s simpler to use.

    1. Thanks for the information Daniel – sorry I did not notice your comment until today. I have been playing around with Microsoft Photos, but just do not feel comfortable with it yet.
