I’ll start with my “before leaving home” shots. My Sunflower plant still has flowers but much smaller than the first ones and just at the bottom of the plant – and a Blue Jay on the tree just off my balcony.
Then I headed over to Fort Whyte Alive to see what I could find.
The Double-crested Cormormant gave some great poses I am not great at identifying flying birds, but thought this one was large enough to be an Eagle. One of the members of a birding site on FaceBook confirmed that it is a Juvenile Bald Eagle. Might be from the nest that I watched earlier in the year.
Fort Whyte Alive is such a great place to walk in nature. Most of the time I was completely by myself and everyone that I did meet was friendly and willing to discuss what they had seen to compare notes.
Good spot of the painted turtle! All it takes is a keen eye and a wee bit of patience, like you have displayed. All your photos are incredibly wonderful. Steve
