A Walk in the Assiniboine Park Zoo

After leaving the Gardens at the Leaf, I headed back to my car, which I had left parked in the zoo parking lot. At that point, I thought I should head into the zoo. I haven’t wandered in the zoo with my camera for some time. Many of you know that I volunteer in the zoo a few times a week, but the only camera I can use then is my phone. The phone takes decent photos, but I can’t zoom in between the links on the fences surrounding many of the enclosures. I need my camera for that.

  • 2 baby Markhors – about 2 weeks old here
  • one baby on each side having a snack

  • Boa Constrictors
  • Dwarf Caiman & Turtles
  • Squirrel Monkeys
  • Looking up in the centre of Toucan Ridge
  • Pelicans in the pond
  • Gardens outside the Butterfly exhibit
  • A relaxed Red Kangaroo in the Kangaroo Walkabout
When I returned home, this sweet Black-capped Chickadee was on my balcony railing.

I almost forgot – the last day for the outdoor Dinosaur Trail is Monday, September 6th. Not much time left if you want to see it.
