A Late Summer Visit to the Gardens at the Leaf

The building (The Leaf) is still under construction, but is moving along. I thought it would be nice to visit the gardens after they have had the summer to grow and mature. Obviously, many of them will continue to grow over the years, so it will be constantly changing.

I parked in the zoo parking lot and walked over to the gardens and the first few photos were along my way there.

  • The Pavilion – I usually take a photo of it from the other side.
  • The Herb Garden has been here (near where the old Conservatory was) for many years. I didn’t realize it was still here.
  • Heading under the gate to go inside
  • Such a pretty little garden and it was nice to wander through it again.
  • I love the natural water feature in the Indigenous Peoples Garden
I love these beautiful windmill additions. The Dragonfly isn’t a windmill, but the other 3 are. 🙂
The last 3 photos are from the kitchen garden. There are vegetables also, but I liked the flowers. There was a woman seated in front of the gladiolas painting a picture of them. What she had done by the time I saw her was beautiful!
As I was leaving I took a photo of the Leaf (still under construction). This building is HUGE. I believe that the white on the roof is a massive undertaking, but once that is up they can work on the inside portion.
