Just a Few Canada Geese

Canada Geese (& a few Snow Geese and ducks) have begun to gather where they can discuss their summer with friends & relatives before heading south for the winter. I was told by one of the regular walkers here that the numbers will increase to thousands (instead of just a few hundred) before they move on. I am just imagining how that many birds will fill the entire pond.

Then I found an all white goose (except for some black on the wings. It is a Snow Goose in with a few hundred Canada Geese. After I looked at my photos, I realized that there were a few more Snow Geese also – they were immature ones, so they were more brown than white.

The mature Snow Goose is obvious – the brown Geese are the immature Snow Geese
