Walking Around the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve

I believe I have now covered every trail in this reserve and I know what to expect around each bend in the trail. It was pretty quiet when I was there yesterday.

3 & 1/2 pairs of Mallard Ducks on the water
A couple of young (or female) American Wigeon I believe
A Scaup (not sure if lesser or greater though)
A young male Wood Duck

Closer look at a male Mallard Duck

Most of the summer, this has been a dry stream, but even without rain it is flowing now.
Looking the opposite direction on the bridge and lots of water.

When talking to a volunteer later, I found out that the city had been out to demolish the beaver dams, which has now got the streams flowing into the reserve again. I believe this happens most years.
